IRCM has published new guidance on AI and updated Registration and Renewal Policies for The Register of Case Managers and Pre-Registrant Pathway. There is also new guidance for applicants to the Register and Pre-Registrant Pathway to support the policies.

AI Guidance

Artificial Intelligence technologies are increasingly present across health, social care, insurance, rehabilitation, and wider support systems. Within case management, AI may be used to support administrative tasks, information gathering, pattern recognition, decision support processes and other related activities. While such technologies offer potential benefits, they also present ethical, legal, professional, and safeguarding considerations that must be understood and actively managed.

This guidance is designed to support professional awareness and informed practice, rather than to provide technical instruction. It encourages case managers to approach AI with professional curiosity, critical thinking, and accountability, recognising that AI generated outputs do not replace professional judgement and do not diminish personal or professional responsibility. The guidance does not mandate the use of AI.

You can access the AI Guidance here.
