Thanks to everyone who attended our January check-in where Chris Parker focused on scope of practice and I talked about recent consultations held by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). You can listen back to the session on our events page.
For those of you who aren’t aware the PSA operate a government-backed initiative to protect the public through an Accredited Registers scheme. Being accredited demonstrates a register’s commitment to high standards and public protection.
IRCM will be applying to PSA under this scheme soon and we are currently putting in place the policies and procedures needed to support this and to open for registration.
We have responded positively to the two recent PSA consultations:
- whether to introduce clearer requirements for Accredited Registers to incorporate criminal records checks for practitioners
- strengthening equality, diversity and inclusion in the Standards for Accredited Registers
